Blog Rot and the case of the faster CPU

Alright, I think it’s been at least a year since my last post. I never intended to let this blog die, and I actually quite enjoyed writing my thoughts. So what happened?

Getting a VTR, looking at a Dolly

Well, its official, I’ve got one of these on order, finally replacing that single-chip camera I use for acquisition. It’ll certainly look the part, and has real time mini DV and HDD recording (simultaneously), as well as a DVD burner and a real-time MPEG-2 encoder. It has firewire out, so I’ll be able to use it with Final Cut Pro.

Still kicking

Still alive, although seems like its just.

Work has been non-stop, between shooting and editing I rarely get a second off. I’ll find the time to upload the football show and the Round Earth Theatre Project soon I hope, HDD troubles have slowed that down substantially (not to mention finding the cut and render time to do this stuff). I show a Sheep Dog training video which will be edited shortly as well through DVCOM, so that’s pretty cool – actually an edit I look forward to. Been working on the Bagdad Music Hall, almost done with that and that’ll be done for another year.

Still haven’t ordered my battery system for Falls, its getting really late!! Waiting on payment sucks – luckily I can order the batteries as soon as its through, hopefully tomorrow as I’d like to be running the system ASAP.

Test

This is a Safari 3 test. Just seeing how paragraphing goes, since paragraphing was broken in Safari 3 beta.  Now that I have the full version I just want to see how it pans out. CheersMaybe this will work?Otherwise so far Safari 3 and WordPress do not get along

Hang on…paragraphing words…but only when I type normally whilst in the ‘code’ mode, as opposed to visual. *sigh* how defeating.

Yep, Safari 3 under 10.5 hates at the visual editing mode. So if I want to edit an entry…TOO BAD! All my paragraphs disappear!
I’ll be back to posting again soon, obviously 10.5 is now on my machines, I took the risk. Its great. Working flat out, virtually non-stop. Gotta recapture that footage for Inspirit but still having trouble finding the time – worst part is, had I been more vocal about my concerns, we wouldn’t have had the problem at all.
